Softball vs. La Verne

It's the season for outdoor sports and today was a perfect day to head down to the Field of Dreams. Talulah and I made it to the first game of a double header and got to see our Bulldogs win 1-0. After saying hello to the team between games, we had to head back home for some rest. I forgot how much more work was involved in outdoor events. I turned on Live Stats when I got back and saw that we lost the second game 8-6.

SCIAC Postseason Tournament Women's Basketball

Heartbreaker! Heartbreaker! Heartbreaker! 300 fans, Talulah, and I were torn between pride and pain as the buzzer sounded and the rope was pulled across the floor one last time. Pain because we didn't want the season to end. Pride because we couldn't be more impressed by this young squad of students. But give credit where credit is due. Paws up to the Leopards tonight. Their defense was tenacious. Our Bulldogs didn't back down. There was no giving up. What looked like an insurmountable lead was whittled down to just two at the end, 50-48. It was so close. A missed shot here. A turnover there. But those things happen. We played to the end. The Leopards were just one shot better tonight.

And a huge paws up to our Lady Bulldogs! What an incredible season. There's never been a team in University history to win that many games in a season. And we're young. Let's give the rest of SCIAC a year to think about what we're bringing to the court next year.

Men's Basketball vs. Oxy - Senior Night

Another Senior Night at Currier Gym. Another young Bulldog team with only one Senior to honor. Tonight was Travis' night. And he returned the favor to all the fans who showed up during spring break. Travis had an amazing night with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals, but it was his last two points that won the game. He hit the final shot with seconds to go and our Bulldog Men's Team ended a respectable season with a 63-62 win. Way to go!

Women's Basketball vs. Cal Lu

Tonight was Senior Night for the ladies. That meant it was Lindsey's night - if you couldn't tell from the t-shirts the rest of the team was wearing. True to defensive form, our Bulldogs kept Cal Lu under 30 percent shooting while Ali lit it up from behind the arc and Meghan turned in another solid game. Lindsey dropped in two shots too! This win means we get to have one more game at home as we should host the first round of the SCIAC Tournament next Thursday. Check back this weekend to make sure. If so, be there! These ladies are good!

Since T and I usually lay low during the game, halftime always presents an opportunity to get up and walk around. Tonight's halftime saw an incredibly high throw by the cheerleading squad followed by a repeat performance of the dance troupe. But this time they had their prop. Rumors abound that Talulah popped the balloon before last night's routine, but she was no where near the darn thing. I think. Anyway, it made much more sense and you can see T in the background was enthralled. I'm always amazed at the creativity and skill of our student body. That dance and that game were both works of art.
