Welcome to University of Redlands!!!

I spent some time on campus in my office today. The campus is looking fabulous! Everyone is preparing for the new students arriving tomorrow with their families. The Bookstore is well-stocked, the "errand vans" are gassed up, and the football field looks beautiful and ready for our first game on Saturday. I can't wait to meet the new Bulldogs in the morning. OCH TAMALE!!!!

AMP Radio Switch Party - Santa Monica Pier

I attended the last Switch Party hosted by 97.1 AMP Radio and the University of Redlands at the Surf Shack at the start of Santa Monica Pier on Sunday. Contestants vied for an IPOD Touch II in a picture scavenger hunt featuring restaurants and venues along the pier.  (It also included a mug shot with me. I have to admit I have a great mug!) I posed for lots of pictures and pets from the tourists as well as hobnobbing with DJ McCabe. A beautiful day at the beach to signal the end of summer and classes soon to begin.

R U Ready for some UR Football???

On Saturday morning, I joined Coach Mike Maynard who welcomed a large showing of UR football alumni to enjoy watching a scrimmage practice and luncheon with current senior players. The alumni present covered classes from '48 to '09. They did joke about having some leather helmets available to wear if requested. It looks to be an exciting year ahead especially with the first game on September 3rd. Come out and join me and some of my siblings for the Rah Rah Redlands kick-off.  Go BULLDOGS!!!

Farewell Katie....

Last Tuesday I joined many to wish Katie Ismael Communications Manager good luck in her move to Mills College in her recent appointment as Media Relations Manager. (I was wishing I could have some of the yummy snacks, too!) She was presented with a great picture highlighting all the covers of the Och Tamale that she has edited over the last 6 years. We'll miss you!!!
