Women's Soccer vs. La Verne (W 4-0)
Senior night at Farquhar Field after fireworks and day long Homecoming festivities capped off an excellent day to be a Bulldog. Victories were found at most sports venues and the pitch was no exception. The game started by honoring five seniors who all played an important role in securing the fourth and final spot in the SCIAC Tournament. Maddy, Jaimie, Emily, and Kaily all scored goals tonight while Fiona contributed another assist in her record setting career. Our Bulldogs outshot the Leopards 42 to 7 and Suzie has the team peaking right as we enter post season play. Let's hope for a repeat of last year's run into the NCAAs. Go Dawgs!

Football vs. La Verne (W 38-28)
The Bulldog Bash at Ted Runner Stadium was played to perfect weather and a crowd of nearly 2,500 fans. Homecoming festivities continued as the King and Queen were announced and I couldn't resist getting my picture with the entire court. The game versus the Leopards was closer than anyone would have wanted partly because we gave up a few big plays and had 10 penalties called against us. However, our Bulldog offense kept responding. Chad threw three touchdowns and ran one in. Brad ran for over a hundred yards and had a touchdown. Grady kicked a 41 yard field goal with plenty of room to spare. The defense was solid against the run. We're 6-1 with one more home game next Saturday night. This is Senior Night so come on out and cheer on our Bulldogs!
Waterpolo vs. Whittier (W 12-10)
The beginning of long day at UR found me dressed as a hot dog at Thompson Aquatic Center to watch our Bulldogs take on the Poets of Whittier College. Our boys held a several shot goal advantage for most of the game, but a late surge by the Poets made the game interesting in the fourth quarter. We still prevailed and our 4-1 record should keep us in a tight race for first in the SCIAC. We have two more games to play before league is over. Go Dawgs! Now off to the Quad and then Football.

Women's Soccer vs. CMS (W 3-1)
After the water polo game I headed to Farquhar Field to catch the second-half action of the soccer game featuring the Lady Bulldogs vs. the Athenas. I got there just in time to see Fiona score a goal. Her header was a very "bulldog-like" score - using her head to knock one in while colliding with the goalie. Bulldogs like to play hard! Sam added the other two scores - once in the first half and the other midway in the second half. Sabrina tended goal with the help of a very strong defense to keep the Athenas scoreless in the 2nd half. The Bulldogs can clinch a 4th place finish and ticket to the post-season conference tournament with a win over La Verne on Saturday night at 7pm. Another Homecoming event and time to recognize our five Senior players. (BTW - in the 3rd UR vs CMS game on Wednesday night in Claremont, the Men's soccer squad notched another 3-1 win. Way to go guys!) Gotta LOVE Bulldog Soccer!!!
