Women's Basketball vs. Gustavus Adolphus (L 54-63)

A well fought first half with the Gusties of Gustavus Adolphus suggested our Bulldogs had shaken the post Thanksgiving doldrum(sticks) and were poised to get their first victory after two close home defeats. Although we grabbed the lead briefly in the first few minutes of the second half, the Gusties went on a tear while our shooting dropped to 26 percent; before long we were down by 15 with 7 to play. A gutsy come back filled with three pointers and solid defense put us back in the game, down by 3, with two to go. It was that stretch of Bulldog basketball that holds promise for games to come. The Gusties didn't relent and finished us off from the line with six free throws in the last half minute. We play three away games before returning to Currier Gym on December 10 to face La Sierra. Good luck on the road trip Dawgs!

Men's Basketball vs Westmont (L 69-76)

I made it to my first men's Bulldog basketball game tonight. The Warriors of Westmont were visiting Currier Gym and they came out fast after the tip to take an early eight point lead. But our Bulldogs got hot, erased the lead, and built their own at half. We stretched our lead to 11 before our touch went south and the Warriors chipped away and finally took the lead back with 6 minutes remaining. Josiah led our scorers with 17, followed by three others in double figures; Erik, Brian, and Matt. It looks to be a promising season with both new and returning talent. Next up is the Lee Fulmer Tournament starting December 1st. Go Dawgs!

Women's Basketball vs Trinity (L 51-57)

On the second night of the Tip Off Classic, our Lady Bulldogs repeated the scenario from the night before; we let the Tigers of Trinity get out to a lead, we'd make a run, and then we let them build their advantage again. Credit a tough defensive effort by the Tigers. We shot 33 percent from the floor and had the early season turn over blues. There was still much to be impressed with; Mariah making the all tournament team, Courtney and Ashley scoring in double figures, and a host of new Bulldog faces getting valuable playing time. We play this coming Saturday at 7 pm against Gustavus Adolphus. If you've stuck around for Thanksgiving, make your way over to Currier Gym for an exciting game.

Women's Basketball vs. St Olafs (L 53-54)

The start of another exciting season of Women's Basketball tipped off last night as our Lady Bulldogs took on the Oles of St. Olafs. Unexpected substitutions early on, adjusting to the height of the Oles, and the speed of a game versus practice, we found ourselves down 8 to 0 before we began to settle into Bulldog Basketball. We played in surges and after we'd catch up the Oles would get back out in front. At the end of the game we had our chances. During the game, we didn't make the most of our time at the charity stripe. We shot less than 50 percent; a sign of a few cobwebs yet to be shaken. They will be and our Bulldogs should bounce back tonight against the Tigers of Trinity. Come in from the cold and support your Dawgs!
