Bulldogs in Service, Riverside

Bulldogs in Service celebrated its third anniversary with over 25 events across America. There were Bulldogs helping in New Mexico, New York, Nevada, and Georgia. Luckily, one such event was local enough for me to visit and lend my support, CAYA in Riverside. At various points in the day, over 50 Bulldog Alumni and friends helped the Come as You Are homeless ministry run by Pastor Ruth at St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Some of the things we did included helping in the garden, painting, and building a closet. Bulldogs are a caring breed. Thanks for letting Talulah and I visit and carouse around the Swiss chard. Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for the toys and treats!

Double header Softball vs. CMS

While many things were going well in Redlands today, softball wasn't one of them. For reasons unknown, the CMS Athenas stole both games of the afternoon double header; 7-1 and 10-2. Were 15-3 in SCIAC now, one game behind the Athenas who are now 16-2 and in first place. With six games remaining, it's possible we can still earn the top spot. We're going to need help from some of the other SCIAC teams though. This was a tough day at the Field of Dreams, but our dreaming isn't going to end. We'll be ready for post season tournament play. Men's Tennis

Another group of Senior athletes was honored at Verdieck Courts today; the second of the day. This time it was three Senior tennis players, Daniel, Matt, and Jeff "Hambone" as they geared up to play the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer. We won 6-3, putting us into solo third place in the SCIAC. The men's team also played Vanguard in the afternoon, the last home match of the season. Talulah and I visited when it was 2-1 in our favor, but we had to leave before the Singles matches were over. Let's hope for the best and read the recap later tonight.

Admitted Students Day and Multicultural Festival

In between waterpolo, tennis, and softball, all three of us made appearances on Peppers Lawn for Admitted Student's Day and the Quad for the 20th Annual Multicultural Festival. The festival was a blur of dancing, music, and playing children of all colors and sizes. We saw at least another dozen dogs in attendance too! A multibreed festival if you will. Thurber thought about joining the fun in the bounce house, but he relaxed on the grass instead and watched. Admitted Student's Day was a chance for me to say hello to next year's incoming Freshman and transfer students. Lunch on Peppers Lawn on another perfect day in Redlands, what better way to aquaint them with our campus. I know they and their parents were busy attending morning interest sessions followed by afternoon tours, so it was nice to see them relaxed and well fed; just like me! Welcome to Redlands!

Waterpolo vs. La Verne

A small leopard squad visited Thompson Aquatic Center this morning on another busy day on the Redlands campus. Yet still a healthy crowd came out to celebrate our two four-year Seniors Whitney and Jade. I sent Talulah and Thurber along to cheer on our team and they were treated to a 16-6 comfortable victory. This was our first official SCIAC win this year and with four more regular season games coming up, we have a chance to claw our way back into the thick of things.
