Women's Basketball vs. St Olafs (L 53-54)

The start of another exciting season of Women's Basketball tipped off last night as our Lady Bulldogs took on the Oles of St. Olafs. Unexpected substitutions early on, adjusting to the height of the Oles, and the speed of a game versus practice, we found ourselves down 8 to 0 before we began to settle into Bulldog Basketball. We played in surges and after we'd catch up the Oles would get back out in front. At the end of the game we had our chances. During the game, we didn't make the most of our time at the charity stripe. We shot less than 50 percent; a sign of a few cobwebs yet to be shaken. They will be and our Bulldogs should bounce back tonight against the Tigers of Trinity. Come in from the cold and support your Dawgs!

NCAA Men's Soccer vs. Calvin (L 1-1: PK)

The Men's Bulldog's soccer season came to a dramatic end last night after 110 minutes of action left the game knotted at one a piece. The first goal came quick for the Calvin Knights; 24 seconds into the game. I missed it because I was still at the basketball game and the NCAA won't let live mascots into the venue anyway. Still, I watched some of the game from behind the Brockton Apartment fence, but that was after we were down from the early mishap. From what I saw, our boys played well enough to win. It wasn't until Nick put in a penalty kick that we tied the game early in the second half. After that, both teams had opportunities. Andreas was brilliant in goal. He had 11 saves. Congratulations to Coach Ralph and the Bulldog team for a fabulous and exciting soccer season!!!!

NCAA Men's Soccer vs. CMS (W 3-0)

Farquhar Field is a great soccer venue and the NCAA recognizes that. Our field is the pride of the SCIAC and it played host to the second round game between us and the CMS Stags; the same Stags who beat us on penalty shots not too long ago. Riding the momentum from our victory the night before, our Bulldogs came out fast and strong and Nick put the first goal through the pipes at the two minute mark. While that goal would prove to be the game winner, our defense never let up and the offense kept the Stags on their heels the whole game. I had to watch from my computer, but goals from Charles, right after he was substituted in, and then another by Gabe on a great assist from Jamie, were the kind of plays we've come to expect from Bulldog Soccer. We're around to play another game and with the type of energy on display tonight, we'll go far into the tournament. Watch! Go Dawgs!
