While many of us, myself included, took some time off the past few weeks, our Men's basketball team continued to work hard and tonight it paid off. Playing to a "the students haven't all rolled back into town from break" Currier Gym crowd that just watched an exciting women's game, we won our opening SCIAC match against the Kingsmen of Cal Lutheran 64-58 in an equally exciting game. This may have been the best one two set of the season. Three players hit double digits, Tristan, Andrew, and Jack, and the team shot an impressive 54 percent from the field. We only took 43 shots the entire game, so we had to make them count. The Kingsmen opened the game by hitting a three pointer but our defense caused them to miss 14 more the rest of the way. Good defense, good shot selection, and good ball handling. This is a combination we'll continue to explore as we head into the heart of SCIAC play. Caltech and Oxy away are next. Go Dawgs!
