The University of Redlands hosted the second annual Redlands Bulldog Triathlon and 5K Run, Walk, & Roll this morning. The race began at 7:30 am with wheelchairs and runners alike making their way through the University of Redlands campus for 5k before embarking on a bike course that took participants out on to the streets of Redlands in a two loop 11 mile course that brought everyone eventually back to the finishing swim at the Thompson Aquatic Center. It was a gorgeous morning, perhaps leaning toward the warm side for the racers, but perfect for us fans. I heard of numerous people coming from far and wide, but it was the many familiar faces in the crowd that made it exciting. And what a finish in the overall division. If the swim was any longer the race would have been even closer than the 3 seconds separating first from second. Afterwards, Talulah and I went back home, fed the pups, and hit the couch as many of the racers probably did too. Well done!
