We live amongst orange groves here in Redlands. It's our heritage. And part of that heritage is bees. We need them and for the most part they leave us alone. But on rare occasions, typically around water, our worlds sometimes collide. Yesterday, Thurber collided with a bee in his turtle puddle. But the swelling went down quickly and we were able to socialize at Willis Center for most of the day today. No worse for wear and a valuable lesson learned. I figure it's the beginning of a long semester so it's a good sign we're learning right out of the gate. Even if it means we take a few lumps along the way.
