When we played the Panthers away last month, we led at halftime by four. This time the Panthers returned the favor and led by six thanks to full court pressure and Bulldog turnovers. We were being worked harder than we thought we would. I saw as many tongues hanging out as I do on a visit to Dr. Butchko, my vet. But everyone stayed in the game. There was no panic. There was only expectation that we'd fight our way back in. And we did. The Panther lead evaporated quickly in the second half as we started to contain the miscues and execute our offense. Chapman's aggressive play also got them into some foul trouble and we made them pay from the charity stripe. Courtney led all Bulldog scorers with 19 despite only scoring four of those in the first 33 minutes. Mariah had a solid game, as did Meghan, Ali, and all the team. But it was the jumper by Katy with less than a second to go on the shot clock with 17 seconds to go in the game that was clutch. Wow. I knew all that cardio was going to pay off...
