In the third and tie-breaking meeting of the season, the Athenas of CMS shot a little better and played aggressive smothering defense to end our run in the SCIAC tournament. There wasn't an easy shot to be had; look at our 3 of 18 mark from behind the arc. Still, despite being out of sorts and down for the better part of the game, our Bulldogs found enough resolve to tie the game with four minutes remaining. It was our own defense that put us back in the game. Unfortunately, the comeback would end there as two back to back threes by CMS created enough gap that our 34 percent shooting couldn't overcome. It was a tough loss, but I was proud of our effort. Let's hope this doesn't end our season. There's still a chance for an at large NCAA berth. If not, I look back at all the adversity and injuries we played through and I'm amazed at how we won 16 games. This is a well-coached, unselfish, talented bunch of Bulldogs that will miss its two Seniors but be ready to hit the hardwood next fall. Go Dawgs!
