Saturday SCIAC Madness

Volleyball, Water Polo, and then Soccer; all three games with big SCIAC implications. My first visit was to Currier Gym and with over 400 people in attendance it was energized for what turned out to be a five set thriller. Bulldogs up one. Tied. Bulldogs up one. Tied. Bulldogs win. Wow! I stayed for the first two and was impressed with Ali's power and the awesome job Allison did filling in for a sick Kelina. Everyone rose up and turned in a match that will not long be forgotten. We find out tomorrow our bracket place in the NCAAs. Well, it was tough leaving Coach Mari and the comforts of a warm gym, but I had to check on the Men's Water Polo match vs. CMS. This was Senior night and with a win we secured second place in SCIAC. Sure enough our Bulldogs outlasted CMS 9-6. Nice finish to the regular season for the 11 graduating seniors. From there it was short walk to Farquhar Fields and yet another SCIAC Tournament Final game. 600 plus fans were on hand for the match. Awesome support. Unfortunately, this one got away and an eight year streak was ended. No matter. Our team is deep and strong enough to start another streak next year. We showed grit in coming back to tie the game at one apiece, but with a man down and three minutes to go, we let one in. It was great to get that far. Go DAWGS! Get some sleep. I am.
