Bulldogs vs. Bulldogs?

This was too much for me. Bulldogs vs. Bulldogs. So I sent Talulah and Thurber to Farquhar Fields to try and figure out how we were scheduled to play ourselves. Was this an end of season scrimmage? What AD in their right mind invites another litter of bulldogs to my house? Gone were all our usual cheers. Go Dawgs! Hey Bulldogs! Whoof whoof! That did nothing for our team that it didn't do for the other team. This was too confusing. On top of all that, I found out the other Bulldogs have an 8-month old mascot. Their first in school history. Wait. Didn't we have that idea first? Who are these dogs? Interlopers! Well, they turned out to have a fast break offense that was difficult to stop. Our set defense was solid, but their breakaway speed, passing, and ball handling was something to aspire to. They also turned us away from the goal with a smothering, sometimes slobbering, defense. Hey, they're Bulldogs. Darn it! It was hard to root against them. Or us? Ahhhh forget it. Great season Redlands Bulldogs. I can't wait until we get back on the field against a poet, a sagehen, an athena, or tiger. Just not another bulldog, please.
