Football vs. North Central College

Redlands Bulldog Football had a night to remember after defeating the #4 ranked Cardinals of North Central College 35-29. The evening began with a small family reunion at the Rah Rah Redlands event prior to the football game. I brought my grandpa Duke and mom Talulah and three of my 4 month old half-siblings, Twister, Sawyer, and Izzy, to the kick-off party. We schmoozed with fans and enjoyed the festivities - Coach Maynard spoke, President Jim Appleton welcomed all, and we enjoyed the sounds of Mariposa Chorus and KISS FM. I headed to the game. It was a questionable start. The Cardinals seemed to score on every possession and the Bulldogs kept having to punt after 4 plays. But we're Bulldogs - known for our courage and tenacity! We scored in the 2nd quarter to only be down 19-7 going into the locker room. We came out on fire scoring 2 TDs in the 3rd quarter. We were up 21-19.  Yeah! I was starting to get tired running back and forth in front of the stands with every score! But the 4th quarter was the one to watch. North Central bit back with a TD putting them up 26-21. We didn't give up and bit them back with another TD ourselves. Bulldogs up 28-26. Those darn Cardinals moved the ball down field and kicked a field goal with 1:40 left in the game. Crunch time! Quarterback Chad Hurst kept his composure and moved the ball downfield. Touchdown Bulldogs with 24 second left on the clock. The Bulldog defense denied the Cardinals from scoring in the final seconds. WOW!!! This is going to be an exciting season of Bulldog Football!!!!! Congratulations Coach Maynard and the entire team!!!!
