Football vs. Chapman (W 21-17)

My last stop of the day was Senior Day at Ted Runner Stadium. Twenty-five young men finished their home football careers with a thrilling come from behind win. The Panthers of Chapman proved admirable foes but our Bulldogs dug deep and somehow found the strength to score with less than two minutes on the clock. At the start of the game, we scored early on a 16 yard run by Brad and it looked like we had control. But after that it became a battle of the defenses. Several turnovers and sluggish play left us with a slim 7-3 halftime lead. The third quarter worried me the most because our defense spent almost the entire time on the field. It was an outstanding kick return by Tyler that kept us close to a resurgent Panther team. And in the fourth quarter our defense stopped several fourth down plays to put the ball back in Dan's hands. On the brink of defeat, fourth down and 17 to go, somehow Dan found Taylor for enough yards to keep us alive. Soon after, our Senior leader scored and the world was back in order. We finished the year at 8-1 and let's hope tomorrow our team gets a chance at the post season. Go Dawgs!
