Baseball vs. Whittier (L 4-6)

Coming off two impressive victories against the Poets of Whittier the day before, our Bulldogs hosted the last of the three game series at The Yard under cool grey skies. The Poets struck first, even before I had a chance to make it to the dugout. And then they struck again. We looked a bit out of sorts in the field and at bat. We were one step from the bag too many times. Chase had three hits, Nate and Landon had two. We just never put together a solid inning behind those hits until the eighth when we had three runs cross home plate. In the ninth we looked poised to mount a two out rally but that fell short. Some days are like this. We still took the series. We have an important three game series against the third place Sagehens this coming Friday and Saturday. The double header at home starts at 11 am. Go Dawgs!
