The Bulldogs were undefeated in SCIAC play this year and were hoping to earn an automatic bid into the NCAA DIII post-season tournament with a win over the Stags of CMS. They had denied us the opportunity the last two years and we deserved it. The first half was scoreless because of a solid defensive effort from both teams. Midway into the second half just minutes after entering the game, Matej put the Bulldogs up 1 on an assist from Alex. We were elated and on our way! However, within a minute of scoring, we let our defenses down and CMS put one in the net to tie. Pressure on again. The game went into overtime. We avoided a straight loss when CMS just missed the left side of the goal in the 1st OT and we had several opportunities in the second OT to score on free penalty kicks but just didn't find the goal. So it went to intense pressure with penalty kicks. CMS found the net 4 times to our 2 and game over. CMS did it to us again for a 3rd year! Redlands has had a fantastic season and we can only hope to receive an at-large bid to the post-season tournament. Keep posted on the GOREDLANDS website. Great effort Coach Ralph and the team!!!!
