Senior Day for Swimmers

After a long and rewarding week of Swimming 700 miles for Haiti, our swimmers and divers faced off against the Poets of Whittier at Thompson Aquatic Center. It was Senior Day for 19 athletes and true to form, the weather was as perfect as all 19 have swum over the years as Bulldogs. Before the meet all the seniors donned wonderful leis brought from Hawaii by the Loo family. That was nice surprise. Thurber and I hung around to watch the 1000, 200, and 50 freestyle events along with the 400 IM. The meet for both the women and the men was going well and I needed to head back home to rest for tonight's basketball double header (remember it's free t-shirt night!). Tomorrow we'll be back at the pool to watch the first women's water polo match of the season at our of two first mini-tournaments. It starts at 9 am and continues for much of the day. I highly recommend coming out to watch. It promises to be a perfect day to relax in the sun and catch some exciting action in the water.
