Football vs. CMS (W 21-7)

Coming into Ted Runner Stadium, the Stags of CMS were 4-0 and averaging over 38 points a game. For the Bulldogs to win, we were going to need our "A" game from our typically stout and relentless defense to compliment our own explosive offense. Little did I know what we asked of the defense they had to give us again and again. In our first nine possessions we had two interceptions, two missed field goals, three punts, one fumble, nearly a hundred yards in penalties, and one touchdown. Our defense was on the field two-thirds of the time during the second and third quarter. We could have been down by several touchdowns, but in the end the only score they gave up was after a valiant goal line stand to end the first half. And that score was questionable because it looked to both me and Talulah like it should have been ruled a fumble. Oh well. By the fourth quarter our offense found its rhythm and subsequently found the end zone two more times. There were anxious moments tonight. The Stags were never out of it until late. But a great defense made this a great game. Homecoming vs. Oxy next Saturday at 2 pm. The Tigers are another tough undefeated-in-SCIAC team. Come on out and support your Dawgs!
