Softball vs. La Verne (W 9-3; W 6-5)

Tennis was great. Baseball was fun. But Softball was all drama. The Leopards of La Verne had our number today, or so it seemed. Early in the first game, we couldn't manufacture any offense. Nothing was going together the way it should. Fortunately, sound defense, including a spectacular catch by Kai, kept us in the game. Kayla was pitching a great game, but we found ourselves down by one going into the 6th inning. Did we give up? Do Bulldogs ever give up? Nope. We're tenacious. So we start the sixth and we hit a rhythm: single, single, HBP, single, single, HBP. And then Aleisha slammed one deep center and we went from one down to six up. That was drama. That was the end of the game. In the second game, we found ourselves in a similar place, down by three with only three outs left. Could we come back? Was all the drama spent? Again, nope. We rallied for three runs and tied the game and then scored one in the extra frame to seal the deal. All Bulldogs are special, but these Dawgs are 17-1 and on a roll. I have to give it to the Leopards for allowing us to see how there's always hope while there's an out left to play. That's about all a Bulldog heart can take for a day, especially when we have two more games tomorrow against another set of cats from Chapman.
